“Monday, Monday can’t trust that day” ~ Mamas and Papas

“It’s just another manic Monday” ~ The Bangles

“Rainy days and Mondays always get me down” – The Carpenters

Why is Monday such a bummer day? It is the one day of the week I dread because I have to drag myself out of bed (at 4:45) and get back in the working routine.

The bliss and non-structure of the weekend is gone.

Last night as I was preparing for Monday I wondered if I could try to change my attitude and mindset.  Try to look at Monday as a fresh start; as an opportunity to adopt a new “start the week with a positive attitude” attitude.

I could give myself a morning treat – buy a flavored coffee, a breakfast sandwich, or maybe purchase a lunch instead of bringing it like I always do.

Maybe I could pay it forward and help someone else’s Monday morning start off with a smile.

As I began to brainstorm my ideas, I saw the options of making Monday a day to look forward to are endless!

We never know how many days we will have on this earth. We have to look at each day as being just as important, if not more important, than the one before it. Mondays are no different.  Can you imagine how much better your week could be if you started if off on the right foot?  Even if you are tired and have a lot of stuff to face this week, (I am right there with you) find your motivation today and let it carry you through the rest of the week.

Friday Thought

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.  Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.  Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.  Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.  Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.  Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.  Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.

“You Become”

The Velveteen Rabbit

He said, “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
